Hi guys A while back I spent an absolute age getting Asterisk working with an early version of Astlinux and like many found it Asterisk intimidating so ended up with a much more basic configuration than I had dreamt about. Anyway that old installation died completely this week and I got the latest version of Astlinux and tried to setup again but I fell at the first hurdle not getting my X100P clone card to work so gave up after 2 whole days of hair pulling.
I downloaded the new AsteriskNOW and the AsteriskGUI looks quite interesting and looks like it would help people like me who are lost get started. In particular it looks like it would help enormously to understand the configuration files better by adding things in the GUI and inspecting the files to see what changes get made. Are you planning on including the AsteriskGUI with the new Astlinux version (0.5?) you are working on now? I intend to have another serious bash at this and have ordered a TDM400 card in the hope that I might have better success. I'm thinking I might be better off waiting for the next version of Astlinux before running headlong into a new set-up. Unfortunately I don't know how to compile from the SVN so will have to wait for a release. How are things going with the new version, is there a chance that something will be available in the next few weeks or is it a big task that is likely to take us into next year ? Obviously not trying to push or get a fixed date just trying to figure out if I am better of waiting or start banging my head against asterisk config files and start suffering from google finger with the current version.
