serial 0 19200 and console 1 are commented out in my syslinux.cfg file. The hang might be because the version of runnix you're using is directing output to the console that doesn't exist instead of to the serial port. If that's the case, eventually (within a few minutes) you should see your astlinux image loading, if there aren't any errors. There should be two versions of runnix. One for serial output, one for VGA/console output.
