Philip, I don't think you completely understand runnix (which is OK...it's somewhat confusing at first). The biggest benefit is you setup your compact flash card to accept runnix images ONE TIME. The syslinux.cfg file doesn't need to be in the astlinux repository. Once the compact flash (or other device) is configured for runnix, that base doesn't have to ever change (unless runnix itself is updated). All you need to do is drop in new images into the 'os' directory. syslinux.cfg is part of runnix which is a separate project. I believe the download from the runnix project website uses the console output rather than serial (Kris, correct me if I'm wrong). In any case, there really should be two downloads. runnix-console and runnix-serial to accommodate the two different situations. Does that make sense?
