Fred, We have not included sqlite or any of the other databases in Astlinux as the intended target for Astlinux is a compact flash device. Most of these devices have limited writes. Even though sqlite is available as a package (I believe it's sqlite3), Asterisk would require patching to use sqlite3 (I think this has been updated in Asterisk's trunk to use sqlite3 instead of sqlite2, but we won't see that until Asterisk 1.6 is released). Bottom line, if you want to use sqlite it's not going to work out of the box and it will take some effort to get it working.
