Stupid me :-/ It did the trick.

1. Since we're on the subjet, to avoid useless write accesses to the CF 
card, do you think I should mount this partition with "-o atime/noatime"? 
Other tricks I should know about?

2. Also, why does fdisk print this warning:

The partition table has been altered!

Calling ioctl() to re-read partition table.

WARNING: Re-reading the partition table failed with error 16: Device or 
resource busy.
The kernel still uses the old table.
The new table will be used at the next reboot.
