I'm trying to build Astlinux for a Gumstix connex that I have laying
around here, and not having much luck. Having read some of the
responses in the mailing list archives, I know that gumstix are
considered "toys", and I should be looking at a Soekris board instead.
But I don't have a Soekris board, while I *do* have a gumstix sitting
here...  ;)

I'm trying to build the latest code from the subversion repository,
under Fedora 8 (also tried in an Ubuntu 7.10 image). It looks as
though it's dying while building the ARM toolchain stuff:

          cd /home/mkelly/projects/astlinux/astlinux-trunk/
toolchain_build_arm_nofpu/binutils-2.16.91.0.7/bfd/doc && \
          $restore $backupdir/* `echo ".//home/mkelly/projects/astlinux/
astlinux-trunk/toolchain_build_arm_nofpu/binutils-2.16.91.0.7/bfd/doc/
bfd.info" | sed 's|[^/]*$||'`; \
        fi; \
        rm -rf $backupdir; exit $rc
WARNING: `makeinfo' is missing on your system. You should only need
it if
          you modified a `.texi' or `.texinfo' file, or any other file
          indirectly affecting the aspect of the manual. The spurious
          call might also be the consequence of using a buggy
`make' (AIX,
          DU, IRIX). You might want to install the `Texinfo' package or
          the `GNU make' package. Grab either from any GNU archive
site.
make[4]: *** [/home/mkelly/projects/astlinux/astlinux-trunk/
toolchain_build_arm_nofpu/binutils-2.16.91.0.7/bfd/doc/bfd.info] Error 1

Strangely, I've got makeinfo installed, along with the standard GNU
make that comes with Fedora 8. Both are in my PATH and work just fine
outside of this makefile. Has anyone else seen this?
