Hi, Darrick,

I have tried to follow the instructions on http://www.astlinux.org/node/28, but
receiving a "kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill Init!" when I tried
to boot up the CF.

I've changed the command line in "astlinux-trunk-1907.run.conf" to
"KCMD="root=/dev/ram0 rw init=/linuxrc astlinux=via
astimg=astlinux-trunk-1907.run astkd=/dev/sda1 ide=nodma",
and the command line in syslinux.cfg is " append initrd=runnix.img
root=/dev/ram0 rw init=/runnix runimg=auto console=tty0 rootdelay=10"

The kernel panic msg appears after "freeing unused kernel memory".

Now, I am stuck again. Any help would be appreciated.

Btw, I have also tried the iso from
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=2d9149cd0807151116s524d7fe9j18108d311c550ff8%40mail.gmail.com
 and received an error of "unable to load losetup", I reached a # prompt, but"
astinstall" returned with an unknown command.

Rgds,
Clara

Subject: [Astlinux-users] New images available

While we wait for Kris to do the actual branching, I created some new
images based on the default config values for SVN 1907. These now
contain 'auto' settings for astkd and asturw. That's right, as long as
you used genkd and/or genunion to create your key disk or unionfs
writable partitions, you no longer have to manually edit the
astlinux--XXX.run.conf file each time you perform an upgrade.

You can find these latest images on:

http://www.djhsolutions.com/astlinux

The SVN 1907 images should be considered release candidates for the
upcoming 0.6 release. We are only doing bug fixes or security updates
prior to that release. No new features will go into trunk until after
the branch.

Enjoy!

Darrick
