Sorry for not replying sooner.  The documentation needs to be updated. 
You do not need to edit the command line in the astlinux-XX.run.conf 
file any more (from 1907 on).  The auto flag for astkd and asturw will 
work correctly as long as you used genkd or genunion to create the file 
systems.

There are two steps to the booting.  Runnix and the actual Astlinux 
image.  To know what problem you're running into, we'd really need to 
know what hardware you're using.  It looks like you have a VIA board of 
some form and you are not using a serial console for your output.  How 
much memory do you have on the system?  What type of CF card (and brand) 
are you using?

I know these images work as I've tested them personally on two different 
platforms (via-serial and net5501).
