After creating the FAT16 runnix partition, you have to drop the  
appropriate image files in the os/ directory.

Extract the appropriate image files:
tar xzvf astlinux-trunk-1907-geni586.tar.gz

--- example image files ---
astflag
astlinux-trunk-1907.run
astlinux-trunk-1907.run.conf
astlinux-trunk-1907.run.sha1
initrd.img
--- example image files ---

place these files in the os/ directory in the runnix FAT16 partition.

Now, boot your box, add one or two partitions, reboot, run genunion  
and possibly genkd, reboot
