I've been very pleased with the ALIX 2C3 board that I bought. I connect two
analog phones to it with Sipura/Linksys SPA2002 which works well. I connect
an analog POTS line with an SPA3000 which does NOT work well... too much
echo, particularly for the calling party. In my case I was particularly
looking for a low power device that could double as my internet gateway (I'm
using this at home) and any device that would take a PCI card with analog
ports was 1) too power hungry and 2) too expensive. To cope with the poor
quality of the SPA3000 I have set it up to only route 911 calls through it,
and any incoming calls are setup at the telco to call forward to one of my
VoIP DID numbers... the only reason I still have the analog POTS is for my
alarm system and 911.
