First og all, I have to admit that my Linux experience level is very close
to zero, so can really use some help.

For the moment I'm using a router with DD-WRT VOIP(Milkfish) firmware as SIP
proxy, but read about Soekris net5501 and thought it could be fun to build
my own router with Asterisk.

To get get some experience with AstLinux, I have assembled a PC with a very
basic videocard, Athlon XP 1800, 512MB RAM, a CD drive and three NIC's.

I downloaded the AstLInux -0.4.8.iso file and made a CD. Upon boot, I typed
"install" and AstLinux got installed on the harddrive. I have also managed
to make a hda2 partition for the keydisk.

The eth0 NIC is connected to the DD-WRT router, and gets the IP I decided
for it. And I can access the AstLinux WEB interface.

What I want to do next is to make the AstLinux PC work as a router by making
the two other NIC's available for DHCP.

As I understand it, I have to remove the # from #INTIF=eth1 in /etc/rc.conf
for the first NIC?

I can remove the # via the WEB interface or using an editor in the AstLinux
PC. I can save the change, but when I reboot I'm back to default.

So I can really use some help on how to move on from here. Later I'm sure I
will have lots of more questions.

Thanks for any help in advance
