Tom, Hey no problem. Just wanted to make clear that the problem really is an Asterisk upgrade issue. I'm not entirely happy with some of the things that Asterisk-gui does to various config files. It makes some assumptions that may not be very helpful. That's why I can't recommend using it. We've included it, mostly because several people have requested it.
