as I said this patch is only ready-for-review, and it is understandable
if you do not want to feed it in.  I was really interested in
establishing a local change anyway, as the problem is sufficiently
annoying.  As I said, I do have two PSTN lines, one is noisy (judging
from the ADSL stats) , and one is good. The problem is on the good line.

Philip has given me some good pointers on how to setup the patch and
rebuild so I will try this later.
