Are you sure about that? While you may be able to do that, I certainly wouldn't want to base a project/product on anything 486 related at this point. The AMD Geode LX, VIA C7 and Intel Atom processors are reasonably low power consumption and way more powerful than anything 486 compatible. You would probably need to patch some of the packages and would certainly need to change kernel options. This is probably better discussed on the astlinux-devel mailing list or hop over in #astlinux on freenode. It's been pretty quiet in there recently, but if you hang out enough, you'll run into one of us. Darrick --- Yes, I'm absolutely sure its 486 arch. I have a few engineering prototypes/reference samples for a new embedded CPU. It's based on 486, full FPU, up to 1Ghz clock speed, etc. All in all, it's an incredibly full featured CPU/SoC design. Plus, the cost can be kept very low which makes it an attractive target... I'll get onboard the -devel and #astlinux resources and see where to go next. :-) --Tim ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial.
