I don't believe AstLinux contains a full implementation of perl. I had a similar problem configuring a Sangoma board which used a perl based config script.

I'm trying to follow the doc at http://doc.astlinux.org/userdoc:dahdi and so far so good. Is there any point in having dahdi_genconf on the system?
