What says "sip show subscriptions". I recently replaced an Asterisk 1.2 system with Asterisk 1.4 and had also some problems with hints. Also for the Snom phone it is firmware dependent (it changed with 7.1.33) how it needs to be setup. (But with FKEYS set to BLF it must be a newer firmware.) Also when you restart Asterisk it sometimes takes some time for all the subscriptions to be active (> 10 min.). You can force that by rebooting the phones.
