I've been unable to work out how to break the loop in the web site. The
problem is that Asterisk GUI is looking for version 1.4, 1.6 or 1.6.1
and can't find it. (I believe the compatibility settings mentioned in
this article make 1.8 compatible with 1.6.2)

I'm working on trying to patch the Asterisk GUI to work with Asterisk
1.8, but since time is limited, our initial AstLinux rollouts will be
1.4 based and therefore it may be a little while before much progress is
made.

Digium doesn't seem to be all that interested in making the Asterisk GUI
work with 1.8 at present which leads me to believe that either (a)
they're getting ready to drop it (I hope not - as far as I can tell
there isn't another GUI suitable for embedded systems) or (b) it's more
work than it looks like.

If I make any progress, I'll keep the list advised.
