The Digium asterisk GUI included with  astlinux works well, but beware if
using it on an embedded platform  such as a soekris or such that it
interacts with asterisk as you make changes so it does take some resources..
it uses the AMI to update the asterisk config files as you operate the
GUI...

Also make copies of existing configs if you haven't used the GUI  as the
first time you log in it will pretty much wreck existing configs..  I found
it is best to start out with a new install using the asterisk gui rather
thanto start using it after you have a working system..

It doesn't look like it, FreeBPX appears to require apache, mysql, full
perl, etc... which AstLinux does not use.

AstLinux does include Digium's Asterisk GUI which allows AJAX style browser
configuration for the asterisk configuration.
