I didn't see the question about the "required equipment" to dd your flash drive.
Built your system first and have everything ready to go as in power and all
that.
I used a linux bootable USB drive, put the astlinux image on the USB drive and
then just boot your new system using the bootable USB drive.
Look at your booting logs and see which one is you flash drive, mine
was /dev/sda1.
From that point when you get a # prompt just DD your image from the USB drive
to the flash drive.
Power off and boot off your flash drive now and go to the astlinux install
steps now
