Hi Michael,
I tested this, two AstLinux boxes side by side, opened TCP 5222 on each and TCP
5269 between each box in the Firewall tab.
In each box's XMPP Server Configuration, Server-to-ServerConnections: [ enabled
], { Save Settings } and { Restart Server }.
My test box's DNS are "pbx2.priv.abelbeck.com" and "pbx3.priv.abelbeck.com".
With a client JID "[email protected]", connected to pbx2, and sent an
IM to JID "[email protected]" it worked as expected, creating a
'federated' IM network between the two boxes.
Note if the JID's domain did not match the hostnames, then a DNS SRV recored
must be made to map the JID's to the proper host, just like MX records and SMTP.
I assume this would also work connecting with GoogleTalk, but may not be
necessary or a good idea.
