Hi Lonnie and John;

Just an update before I try to get some sleep, just gone midnight here.

I have used puppy linux a bit larger then DSL but at least I know my way
around it.

Used John's write up but applied to puppy linux and used a package called
Gparted, (Partition tool).

Deleated opriginal contents and then used
dd if=/mnt/sdc1/astlinux-1.1.6-asterisk-11.8.1.img of=/dev/sda

After a while thtask was done as as said I could use Gparted to confirm
something now on the internal flashdisk.

A reboot then started runnix and the installation process completed.

Just gone through the new install instructions changed password, done the
persistend storage options and added the sound all as described.

Now it is bed and I will endevour to get some sip phones working within my own
network tomorrow night.

I was expecting the astlinux-1.1.6-asterisk-11.8.1.img file on the usb stick
to overwrite and install it self on the flash as part of its first run, which
was my mistake. Got there at last.
