rebuilding the Astlinux is not a big deal , i have done it many times when i needed to add chan_dongle in ast11 ,and usb support in kernel , it just takes a little courage :P .yep it's just time consuming . :) . on old pots line i think 70 volts is needed to generate a ring tone on fxs card .

Thanks. This was sent to me by another collector who wanted to use it with a thin client to connect to the collectors network
Finding the 12VDC to run the ring generator on the FXS modules isn't an issue, as I have done that before
There seems to be some disagreement as to the openvox 4 port module requiring special drivers, so I will build with the late Asterisk and standard drivers. If it works, fine, if it doesn't, the card goes back to him

Building a special version of AstLinux is WAY above my pay grade. Just reading the instructions makes my brain hurt!
I will leave all of that up to you smart guys!!

If a special driver is required, you'll need to build this in your own build environment. We're currently not including any OpenVox drivers.

I've moved almost all analog interfaces towards gateway boxes such as the Audiocodes or Sangoma ones. Those are quite possibly out of your budget if you're considering the OpenVox cards, but it's a better way to go for most cases.

i think you'll face voltage problem with fxs card in a thinclient , first check that , they provide patched dahdi .

Anyone have any experience with an OpenVox FXO/FXS card?

Main question is does this card use the standard Digium wctdm diver, or does it require something special?

I have someone who wants a thin client and would like to use this card, but if it requires any special driver that isn't going to happen with Astlinux
I have no experience with openvox
