Do you really need to have port 5060 open?  That should only be required if
you want to permit someone outside of your network to register with your
asterisk box. If you must permit external devices to register then consider
TLS on port 5061.  Also in sip.conf I have the following statement for my
extensions that register...
 permit=192.168.0.0/255.255.0.0
Which means that only devices on my local network are permitted to register.
