Hi Michael,

The main point with real servers could be, that there might be a lot of drivers
missing in AstLinux (especially harddisk controllers and NICs).
While there are all drivers needed for virtualization already included within
AstLinux.

You could easily buy a server, install the Debian-based free Proxmox VE and
then install AstLinux in Proxmox without any driver issues.

Thanks Michael

Yes certainly the most flexible but if I have to provide the server then I
don't see any point virtualising it!

Hi Michael,

I usually use for systems with more than 60-80 seats AstLinux in a virtual
machine running under VMWare or Proxmox. Theses systems have usually a
dedicated firewall (like PFSense or similar).

Hi All

I am quoting for a 120 seat system which will likely expand to 150 seats. It
should be pretty basic with no significant firewalling required.
Do you thing the Qotom box should be fine?
Should we include a high end server in the Astlinux tested architectures?
