It is quite possible your issue was related to the GSO kernel bug, but only 
testing 1.3.10 with PHYETH_DISABLE_OFFLOAD="tso gso gro" would you know for 
sure.

If you don't mind, keep running 1.4-pre-release and report any issues you may 
have.
