Bruno, I understand and partially share your concerns. However, this bug has been around for a long time and there has been some serious effort to fix it. Unfortunately nothing worked. Since the 802.11g parts are becoming old and Atheros considers them legacy, a workaround might be acceptable. Sometimes we have to be pragmatic and settle for "good enough" instead of "perfect". Ultimately this is for the maintainers to decide, but in the interest of the ath5k users, I urge this patch to be accepted.
