Hello,
I have removed network-manager and I don't have the little applet thing running
in the system tray either ;)
Went ahead and followed the referred-to instructions:
# Debian based systems (Ubuntu is one)
sudo /etc/init.d/NetworkManager stop
sudo killall -TERM wpa_supplicant
...but still didn't get anywhere.
Any other ideas? I've been trying this manually and with wicd.
Thanks again,
John
