The only ones you can get from TAPI are JAWS or Windoweyes, and both of them need the correct video drivers to be installed to work properly. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Denny Huff" <[email protected]> To: "'Adaptive technology information and support.'" <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, January 08, 2011 11:26 AM Subject: Re: [ATI] Screenreader
Chuck, Have you tried the NVDA screen reader from: http://www.nvda-project.org/. You could download the portable version to a thumb drive and give it a try. Or possibly Thunder from, http://www.screenreader.net/index.php?pageid=2. Both of these are free screen readers. Not sure how well they work, but might be worth a try. __________________________________________________ Denny Huff - President Missouri Council of the Blind Toll Free: (888) 362-1383 MCB Phonecast: (816) 298-8969 [email protected] -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Chuck Brady Sent: Saturday, January 08, 2011 11:18 AM To: Adaptive technology information and support. Subject: Re: [ATI] Screenreader I have to buy a new video card to resolve myissue. I'm using JAWS, and I can't findthe correct video drivers for my card, therefore JAWS won't register. I don't want to shell out money to replace a perfectly good card. FS can't help me with this one, and I can't find drivers for my model of card. Any driver program won't work since tI can read edit fields with the drivers for, you guess it, videos being installed. So that's whyI am trying to find an alternative, if there is one. If there isn't, I'll bite the bullet. But since I can get anoother screenreader through TapI, that cost is not an issue.
