Yes, Jim; thanks. I tried to "run" it, too, but apparently command
line programs are different, though I don't know how.
I have 2 hard drives; one is OSC, and I forget what the other is
called.
Should I run for both drives or just the one that contains data?
With Gratitude,
Darla

Subject: Re: [ATI] Running Disk Check

Do you mean "chkdsk"? That's a "console" (or command line) program.
Sometimes entering will launch a command prompt window with readable output
if the process runs long enough--which chkdsk should. In any case, typing
"chkdsk c:" (without quotes) and pressing enter from a command prompt should
give you output similar to the following:

The type of the file system is NTFS.

WARNING! F parameter not specified.
Running CHKDSK in read-only mode.

CHKDSK is verifying files (stage 1 of 3)... ... ...

There's also a way to do this graphically... Go to the "properties" of your
desired drive and press the "check now" button on the tools tab. (I can give
specific instructions on any of this if required.)
