I think the most exciting thing about Alexa is not the skills for the Echo but
the fact that at this years CES more and more appliance manufacturers are
incorporating her into their products. This could be life changing for those
of us who are blind. Yes at first the costs are going to be high but the more
mainstream these products become the better the price point will be.
Millennials love to take the easy way out and just talk to devices and as our
population ages this type of product will become increasingly popular. Think
of a time when we wont have to worry about touch panels but just say to our
microwave 'Alexa cook 3 minutes on high please' or "Alexa please start
dishwasher on smart wash settings with hot dry'. It could truly change the
playing field for us and its a lot closer when we might think. I might not
miss my TeMo anymore. Robyn
