-1. The existing logo is visually elegant, symmetric and thematically a nice play wrt to the web and communications. It works on a number of levels. Perhaps it could do with recoloring, but as a logoform it's fine (the right way to compare the forms is with grayscales btw). Whereas the proposed logo lacks wit, is so asymmetric it's unstructured, my eye keeps falling off to the right no matter how hard I try to look at (I see no "panache").
