Hmm. I don't know of any GUI clients that show them (web stuff like Magpie and Amphetadesk can be made to do it), but what's a LiveJournal feed without a photo?

But, since they are of varying sizes, they tend to be tucked away in the UI rather than displayed prominently. Were there a standard size, then a GUI app could do something like how iTunes displays album cover art.
