No. It has nothing to do with "versions" or even "variants." I have
explained that on numerous occasions. The denial of relevance to the issue
of "version" is even in the title of this thread. Read: "atom:modified
indicates temporal ORDER not version..." Clearly, you either aren't reading
what you're responding to or you simply don't understand what is written.
Robert, it is YOU who keeps bringing "version" into this discussion
-- not I. Clearly, you are not acquainted with the manner in which the word
"version" is used in our industry. Only this could explain why you persist
in using the word in the colloquial sense popular to those not schooled in
computer science and software engineering. May I suggest that you read some
basic software engineering texts that discuss how our industry understands
the term "version"? Something that talks about "code management" or
"configuration management" might work well for you. There are many very
accessible basic introductory texts available that you might be able to
understand if you apply yourself and read carefully. If you need any help in
understanding what is written in the books, please feel free to send me a
mail asking for help deciphering the more difficult parts...
