Thought the card was faulty and sent it back . The shop tested the card 
compared against another one - new from the box . Conclusion was card 
not faulty . Maybe Gigabyte design for this particular card is not 
working well with present Linux driver

40% fan speed in the control panel but I can not hear any speed 
reduction taking place .
