I am using Mythbuntu 8.04.

I have setup my lircd.conf using irrecord following the instructions
on the wiki.
Here is the behaviour I am seeing.

Start 'irw'.
Hit the Down key:
0000000087ee810d 00 Down /etc/lirc/uid14

Good.

Now hit the Menu key, until it shows up.
I see the following:
0000000087ee810d 01 Down /etc/lirc/uid14
0000000087ee810d 02 Down /etc/lirc/uid14
0000000087ee810d 03 Down /etc/lirc/uid14
0000000087ee810d 00 Down /etc/lirc/uid14
0000000087ee810d 01 Down /etc/lirc/uid14
0000000087ee8102 00 Back /etc/lirc/uid14

So, even though I am pressing a different key, lirc keeps saying I am
pressing the same key until some random amount of time or key presses.

Sometimes it just works, other times it will do it 10 times in a row,
or just once or twice.

It is getting particularly bad, so I really need to fix it.

Here is my generated lircd.conf, I had tried with the gap comment out
as well (though I am not sure what it does).

begin remote

  name /etc/lirc/uid14
  bits 8
  eps 30
  aeps 100

  one 0 0
  zero 0 0
  pre_data_bits 24
  pre_data 0x87EE81
  gap 211981
# gap 211981

      begin codes
          Ok 0x04
          Up 0x0B
          Down 0x0D
          Right 0x07
          Left 0x08
          Back 0x02
      end codes

end remote

Has anyone seen this before?
Any settings that may change this behaviour?

Thanks,
Dave
