Attempting my 2nd AppleTV device install now.
Wow, a lot faster this time!
I am installing Mythbuntu 8.04.
Things are different this time since I will be installing this on a
standard 27" CRT television. So I was only connecting the Green cable
to the normal video in.
Also, when I first booted AppleTV I choose the resolution of 480i
(last time was 720p).
When I kick off the Mythbuntu install using either of these kexecs:
kexec --load tmp/casper/vmlinuz \
--initrd=tmp/casper/initrd.gz \
--command-line="file=/preseed/ubuntu.seed boot=casper \
initrd=/casper/initrd.gz nosplash vesa video=vesafb"
kexec --load tmp/casper/vmlinuz \
--initrd=tmp/casper/initrd.gz \
--command-line="boot=casper initrd=/casper/initrd.gz \
nosplash vesa video=vesafb"
I see this (480i):
setup_linux_vesafb: 720x480x32 @ 10018000 +2d0000
instead of the 720p install:
setup_linux_vesafb: 1280x720x32 @ 10028000 +708000
Then when the install finally makes it to displaying the GUI, you
cannot read the screen at all.
The vertical refresh is messed up and the screen is just gibberish
(technical term).
Any suggestions for me?
Thanks,
Dave
