Just recently bought an ATV and was able to work my through creating the patchstick and installing mythbuntu 8.04 over the past 2 days. I don't think I would have managed it with out all the tidbits of info I found on this group. Thanks!
Systems boots into X fine, based on what I've read it's actually pretty quick (about 1 second for the AppleTV/Tux logo to appear and 35 seconds till X windows is up. Unfortunately the MythTV Frontend just wont start. If I try selecting it from the menu it acts like nothing happened. Everything else in the OS seems to work, in fact this was posted through Mozilla from the ATV. Basic info: X is set to 1280X720 connected through HDMI Frontend only config and it displays 'successful' when pinging my back end.
