How long does the "no signal" last? Are you sure it's not a screensaver/screenblanker? Mine goes "no signal" but if I press a key on my remote, the screen will come back.
You can't get sound over HDMI AFAIK. It's not supported. Your only options are to use HDMI for video and then the RCA or Toslink connections for the audio (I only use the RCA 2 channel audio, I've never tried the Toslink). You can also use the component outputs (Red, Green, Blue) for video or the composite output (on the Green) for video. Again, you have to use either RCA or Toslink connections for audio. Personally, I use component video and RCA audio. On bootup, as X loads, the screen is blank for about 60 seconds. Then the screen suddenly appears correctly and mythfrontend is running. I think it might be a driver issue (v 169), I've just learned to deal with it.
