All,
  I solved my problem.  The trick in getting the ATV to rescan the USB
Ports with then 'Menu'&'-' IR transmitter is to hold it down for 6
seconds.  Able to read my USB stick with both hubs now.  Have ATV up
and running as mythbuntu frontend!!!
