Bill, I have a similar issue, although I'm trying Ubuntu 8.04. I replaced the 40 gig hard drive with a 250 gig. I did a full format as you did. Install seemed to work fine. AppleTV attempts to boots up, but on screen display, I get an apple TV with a question mark. I'm guessing it can't find the boot partition.
And I'm further guessing the partition name, or mapping, or types have to be in a specific arrangement. I took the drive out, and looked at it from my Mac. Ubuntu 8.04 formatted to FDisk partitioning scheme, I believe we need GUID partition scheme. I'm going to take the hard drive out, format with GUID partitioning scheme in another computer, put it back, and try again. I'll let you know how it goes. -cris On Apr 26, 10:31 pm, Bill S <[email protected]> wrote: > My first attempt at getting ubuntu installing on my Atv.
