Hi Scott,
It's XBMC 9.11 beta, downloaded from the PPAs. The actual "installed
version" according to the synaptic package manager is 9.11~beta1-
hardy2.
If it makes any difference, I'm running the 169.12 nvidia driver,
though with the Atlantis XBMC release from last year, I had no
problems with H.264.
make sure renderer is set to ARB and not auto or VDPAU.
