@Abdul, thanks for that his surgery is probably tomorrow and we're not exactly looking forward to it. he's actually pretty stoical, but my mum is on a right panic.
@Wanderer, yes, being blind is dire, and all the positive rubbish from people who have got everythig for nothing and have had and nothing to cope with doesn't help, especially when all those people need to do for others to accept them is exist and make eye contact, "put yourself out there" is such a scummy phrase because it blaimes you for society's stupid problem, which is why my own personal opinion of society is pretty dam low, (if society wants me to be nice to it, it should be nice to me, ).
I'm not going to give platitudes because yeah, platittudes are pretty crappy and don't help, however I'll point out a couple of things.
First, which idiot said you need a job to contribute to the world? measuring everything by finances is a mugs game, personally I tend to think so long as I can sing or right and be reasonable to I'm contributing something, indeed probably rather more than some resentful arse hole who is mean to everyone because her/his entire life is stacking shelves all day and geting drunk all night, that when not watching brainless tv.
Yep, lack of being able to do spontanious things is a real arse indeed! that's why I personally use reading, writing and games and roleplay such to do that instead which isn't a substitute for the real thing, just wandering off and going somewhere, but it at least does something, also when you find friends withw hom you can be spontanious that is valuable and you make even more of them. Of course, finding them is a struggle, but you will appreciate them more, indeed often more than generic jo average who can afford to offend anyone sinse there are plenty more drunke n people at the bar.
I'll also say that yes, mobility is a bastard, but it's a worth while bastard to work with and will serve better in the long run. Mrs. Dark is amazing at mobility generally and getting her way around places and has lived in three different countries now as well as inumerable cities for all she, and indeed i still have problems. No, it isn't fare, I thought that today when I had to sit at the rotten vets with reever for an extra hour because I couldn't get a taxi while everyone else went brum brum in their nice little cars, but hay there isn't a choice and that's why government money is dam well justified.
Finally, miracles do happen. I won't attribute this to god or anything else, but frankly it amazes me what I've found with my lady an has made me view much of the world differently. I'm not going to say it'll happen to you, or hang in there, or everyone gets lucky sinse if anyone knows that not to be true it's me, but one thing I have learnt is how I perceive and think of myself is absolutely %100 different from how certain other people think of me, and there are truly decent people in the world, the problem is finding them, but they are out there and cross your path occasionally, so giving up is a bad idea even if the only reason not to is simply not to give up.
Well for me things have been hechtic. a good friend of mine showed up last night with some amazing philopino banana Liquor, lovely on it's own and also great in coctails. My friend who is also an amazing chef made some fantastic lasagnea and other goodies, so it was a great evening albeit as I said my dad is having surgery tomorrow which isn't good.
Despite not being able to sleep I did get a site updates news item done which I'm pleased about sinse I am aware things have slipped a little, still nice to get back to things and also provide pages for a wide range of games that need ed doing from ios titles to muds to browser games.
I also finished Arrows flight by mercedes lackey and am looking at a review. it was a good book, but I'm waiting really for things to kick off sinse right now everyone being nice in the series is getting a bit much, ---- cute in the first book but a little too much now we're two thirs through the trilogy, either way I'll try and bang out a review when I can.
I also just finished the diary of river song from big finish which was surprisingly good, especially considering that river song was a character I really! disliked on tv being the standard moffat flirty female of annoyingness from his usual female character draw, pretty much just like amy pond, and the new female master, and madam de ponpador, and for that matter not infrequently Clara as well (that man really! needs to learn that not all women are aggressive exhibitionist nutjobs obsessed with one thing).
Of course the fact that now river wasn&# 039;t! written by Steven moffat and was actually able to be the pretty awesome time traveling indiana jones style spact archaeologist she was always supposed to be rather helped, indeed she reminded me far more trongly of her only good appearence on tv, in Silence in the library back with the tenth doctor when actually she really was pretty cool (I was quite shocked when she turned up a series later and was annoying as hell).
I also just finished the new fourth doctor story which no holds barred rocked! actually this was great, particularly sinse the fourth doctor range has been a little disappointing of late ever sinse the master rocket men stories, glad they're back on track. This had the cool premise of a society where the inhabitants of a polluted future literally declare war on the planets past and travel back in time to steal endangered animals and natural resources that got depleated, though I think we're heding for a major twist. It also has K9 as a computer ruling over his own cult, which was hilarious, although I guessed very much it was him before the big spoiler. This is a two parter so goodness knows how it's going to turn out, but i'm now looking forward to a fourth doctor story more than I have for quite some time.
