Re: A bug in IOS 10
Boy am I really annoyed with Apple now.
One of the changes I made to my cable modem / wireless router settings was to turn off proadcasting the network ID.
In the past this little trick to better secure my wireless network has never caused a problem because every wireless device had the option to enter the network name if it didn't appear in the list of available networks, which mine wouldn't since that list is filled using broadcasted network IDs.
But, Apple, in their infinite wisdom, decided that iOS devices will only be allowed to connect to networks that broadcast their network IDs, even if the device already knows the network name and pass phrase! If it can't find the network ID in a list of networks broadcasting their network ID, it won't even try to connect.
I'd like to know who's brilliant idea that was, they deserve to be fired for such stupidity!
