How much gold does your characters start out with and do you get any more if you donate to KickStarter?
For the description of an attack, you could have a special humanoid variable that could specify head, arm hand and leg hits.
Is your party members restricted to humans?
If so I think the specific advantages and disadvantages of being a Dwarf, Elf or other race could be done with magic items.
For example, the dwarf ability to resist magic but the inability to cast magic could be done with a ring of magic resistance.
