Collectible Card Game challenges for Blind players

I am wondering if folks could share your challenges as well as solutions you have tried when playing Collectible Card Games; such as Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon, etc.
I have heard some use braille tape.
I was thinking about making a card reader mobile app and am wondering if this would be helpful or more importantly useful.
Making apps and games take a lot of time so if folks can tell me this would not provide much, if any, benefit, I would rather spend my time making other accessible apps/games.
Any thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated.
