switch from esys 40 to vario ultra experiences?

I am curious what your experiences are with the baum vario ultra?
I am a bit concerned with the switch from thumkeys to the keys on the side that vario ultra uses?
at the moment I have a eurobraille esys 40.
any other comments are of course also welcome. I am looking for user experiences.
