When you summon fairies, and buy the first few things, you can walk in the forest. That's at the bottom of the page, and I didn't see it for a while when I first started the game.
Click the "walk in the forest" button a few times, and below it, you'll start to see a story unfold. As you click more, there is more added to the story.
You walk through the forest, find things, and then you have to do something back at the village, and that opens up Part 2 of the story so you can walk in the forest again and discover more.
