When you begin stand still and listen. The sort of humming sound is the big laser in the ceiling tracking towards you. When it gets close you'll hear the hum stop and a buz, at this point if you don't move it'll blast you and you'll die, so begin running to the right jumping the gaps. When you jump two gaps and hear x1 ahead of you (he's always taunting you), blast, and you'll here an electrical sound which is his force field.
At this point wait for the laser again and then run and jump back to the left to wait for X1's force field to drop.
That's basically the process, taunt the laser in coming towards you then go and blast x1, then wait out the laser again and jump away, then go back and blast x1.
You can speed things up and don't need to always go quite as far once you get how fast the laser moves, though as Liam says it speeds up.
