When the fight starts, if you stand still you will hear the laser coming towards you, when it reaches your location you'll here the lock on sound just before it fires.
If you run forward and jump two pits you'll hear x1 and can shoot him, after you've shot him you'll need to go back and jump the pits again.
The force field is like an electric crackling sound you'll here when you shoot x1, it just means you need to wait before you can shoot him again. X1 does not move, he just sits there, but the laser will still be tracking you, that's why the process of the fight is wait for the laser to come towards you, then run right and jump the two pits, blast x1 once, wait for the laser to come towards you, then run left jumping the two pits, wait for the laser to come towards you again, then run right jumping the pits, shoot x1.
the laser will get faster so the time you'll need to wait will dicrease, repeat this about ten times and x1 will go down and you'll finish the game.
