Re: Best space strategy games?
The website I saw for anacreon was This one which has the manual and documentation, although according to that site the game's last update was around 2005 or so.
I do remember checking out the game at one point and loving the sound of some of the systems, particularly how planetary combat worked. The problem though again was that a lot of the interface was super clunky. Ironically, the space and movement screens seemed very logical, many of the menus and overviews of information were needlessly complex, then when I looked at Zcline's comments about combat deployment requiring poke and hope tactics I pretty much gave up.
Of course I don't know if NVdA is more compatible with Annacreon than supernova was, or if there have previously been some updates with a more accessible interface.
Btw, not that it's a space trading game, but I've just also started playing Tau station, which looks fun, albeit more like a set of dayly gamebook challenges and random loot drops than a space strategy game.
